Nice day at the pond. Breezy at times but no issues. Yep, we used the kayak a few times. Jeff brought the food and Wayne and Bob cooked up a nice lunch. A few visitors stopped by and joined us for lunch. Headed home about 12:30

Only two showed up at Lily Pond, Bob C. and I. We were expecting  Dave Sousa and Jeff Hunter and finally checked in with Dave to find out he had taken a long excursion thru No Anson on the way. Both finally showed. Both made their first float planes flights today with my Aeroscout. Went well.

Some nice flying! Tested my SIG LT-25 after installing a AR637T receiver and setting up Safe and AS3X. All went well. Made some carries with the old LT25e including the maiden flights of Bob's new glider he built this past winter.

Some brave souls at the field. Cool breeze but sun peaked thru at times and that was really nice. Bob flew his Radian and did catch some lift for a bit. Eric and Bob flew the RV8 and Eric his Carbon Z Cub. Mike flew his Osprey and several other helis.

I got several flights on my Aeroscout and "Flying W" and also several flights on my Eclipse 360.

Overall, a nice day at the field.

Cool day with a chilling breeze, About twelve flyers made a great flying day of it along with a visitor from Greenville and WABI TV photojournalist . Plenty of aircraft in the air. Vic performed the lunch duties.

Nice to see the Flex Innovations flying again. I first flew it in April 2017 then later sold it to Wayne and now it has been passed on to Bob.

What a great day for the event. First order of business was adding Mark and Cindy's names to the Legends Plaque. Shawn spoke briefly of their many activities to benefit the club. And thanks to Ken for getting this done.
And we had a nice turnout with plenty of different flying machines! And some visitors got a chance to fly on a buddy box. A great lunch by Vic with help from Dave and Joe.

Not a large turnout of pilots on this Labor Day weekend. Beautiful weather and not too much wind. And we did some glider flying with the SIG Riser. Dave and Bob both had some flights around 8 mins then lift really improved. Bob got an 11:20 min flight then really put it up there for a 14:46 min flight and spent much of that time causing the glider to descend! Of course there were many other flights. I ended up flying the Multiplex PC-6 I had sold years ago! Another great day at the end of summer for some.

Beautiful day for our annual picnic and tribute to Roland. Many many different planes flew today, not just gliders. We had several visitors who were introduced to RC flying today and several former members join us for the day including our flying buddies from the Bangor area. Bob spent much of his time using the “tug” to carry gliders up for release. 

Cindy's had some issues with her cell phone and wasn't going to take photos of the event so I gave her my camera to use for the day! And she certainly used it!! I downloaded over 600 photos to my PC when I got home. I worked my way through them over a number of hours and ended up with 446 photos including several from Chris. How to chose which ones to post? So I posted all 446. Thanks to Cindy for all the great photos she took.

Ken brought food for the day and others contributed various items so we had a great lunch. Mark and Cindy managed the grill cooking up hamburgers and hot dogs for all. A great time was had by all.

Bob, Wayne, Vic, Chris, Sandy and I attended the FCAM Float Flying Event and had a great time. Again, the weather co-operated! Little wind and great day for flying. And it was great to see Wayne flying again! Had our usual lunch and were on our way home around 12:30.

Windy to say the least but plenty of flying! Small turnout as I expect the wind had a lot to do with that. Shorty and Issy brought their grandchildren from Florida and each made an Aeroscout flight under Mark Poulin's guidance. Nine Aeroscouts present at one time. Only eight in the photo as Shorty and Issy had to leave with their grandchildren. They also flew Mark Potter's quad for a bit. They had a great time. Vic brought pulled pork, ribs, and coleslaw for lunch along with hotdogs from the grill manned by Mark and Cindy.

Lily Pond Float Flying - July 2025

Another great day at the pond. No breeze at first and the water just like glass. Tried to get as many photos as possible with reflection off water included. Seven pilots were present and six flew a variety of planes. A few water rescues were necessary and we now have a new “rescue machine”.  The only balsa plane flying today, my Seamaster II, suffered a bit as some of the covering separated on the wing but it is repairable. It has been flying since 2009 and made 128 flights to date. Bob and I cooked the hot dogs and rolls for lunch. A great time was had by all. On another note, Vic made his first flights from water and did a great job. He also helped with the cameras! I think we all were on the road 12:30 -1:00.

Preston brought his Duck to the field for a test flight. First flight on a 2S lipo indicated not enough power so we tried a 3S I had with me. This also corrected the tail heavy condition and he made a great flight as the photos show!

Managed to get some video of Bob's heli at the June FCAM Lily Pond Float Fly event. Usually don't even try with heli's as they are all over the sky and hard to track. First section of video is with my normal Canon G16 and remaining is with a GoPro. With that 5k video I can do some tracking with software and cut out sections of the heli flying. All went well even though I didn't video the landing.

Sam has recently started flying RC again and some have been posting older photos of him on Facebook. I don't do Facebook but have some photos I thought I could put together in a slideshow covering my 21 years of flying with him. Sam is among the first pilots I met when I started flying RC in 2004 and he has helped me on more than one occasion. The thing I remember most is he could fly all day without taking his planes out of his vehicle as many wanted him to fly theirs!

A few of us did get together for the February Snow fly-in even if the conditions weren't perfect. But better than we thought. While there was less flying than usual, there was a lot of fun! Mainly due to trying to rescue Bob's Polaris without marking up the snow field with snowshoes! And we did have lunch, pizza from the local store. Bob did rescue several other flying machines on snowshoes and it was “hard going”! All in all, it was a great day of winter flying.

Indoor flying going strong! Last two events were cancelled due to weather. But looks like some new flyers made this event. And Bob's “Flying Machine” is looking better all the time.

Finally got my old quad back in the air. Hasn't flown for 10 years! We have been flying a lot of quads indoors this season and that inspired me to get this one out and flying again. I enjoyed the experience! First flown these back in 2012.

Finally got to make the maiden flight of my new powered glider. Saw the review in the March 2024 issue of Model Aviation and decided to buy and build a balsa kit for a change.

The glider flies just fine. Now need to fly in on a nice day with some lift.
